This is a beat i made recently using reason. I explored different ways of sequencing various drums, so there are more rapid fire sick ass hell drum fills. There is also a ‘breakdown’ which involves a piano sample from Brian Eno.

This beat was made on Reason.  It starts out with a Miles Davis sample.  I added some bass and drums, then a high pitch-bent synth.  There is a breakdown which involves some echo drums noises.  Then I added another gritty synth and some steal drum noises.  Some of the horn samples still need to be tweaked a little to get the timing right.  enjoy

This beat was originally just an exercise with side chain compression, using Reason 4.  It samples the Microphones on the drum track, and also some Kraftwerk keyboards.

Here is a soft rap beat for Valentine’s Day.  There is a bass, sampled guitar (pitch bent Modest Mouse guitar), synths, drums — two high hats, three bass drums, and like four or five snares layered on top of one another.  With all the layering, I was hoping this beat would sound beefier, but it still sounds a little weak to me. Anyway, hope you enjoy this.

In this song I sampled music from the movie Santa Sangre and then added drums and keyboards. I played live drums, then cut them up, and sequenced them on Reason. Hope you enjoy this Spanish Gem!

This was originally intended to be a rap beat but then I put too much side chain compression and added too many pulsing layers of super charged synths along with the ever pounding, thunder crushing drum tracks.  This song is a series of build ups and break downs, but mostly the adrenalin never stops flowing the entire time.  The high pitched piano line is the only live instrument here.
